This issue proposes the first assessment of the H1N1 epidemic which took place in France in 2009-2010.
It recalls of the scenarios foreseen before the epidemic which occurred in the northern hemisphere and highlights their differences with the reality observed. It would not be complete if this issue did not also approach the question of the perception of the risk and the necessity of self protecting and place them in the centre of the difficulties.
