Centre Christophe Mérieux of Laos
Laboratory and Conference Centre
Following a visit of Lao Health Minister in France in 2005, Dr Christophe Mérieux decided to help Laos with capacity building in the field of infectious diseases. Fondation Mérieux funded the building of the Centre Christophe Mérieux of Laos, designed for training and applied research projects on national public health issues.
The Centre Christophe Mérieux of Laos is composed of the Rodolphe Mérieux Laboratory of Laos and a Conference centre with a library. It was officially opened in January 2009, and is now part of the Lao national public health infrastructures. Fondation Mérieux will assist the Centre in achieving functional and financial independence by building national and international partnerships.
