Objectives
The main objectives of GABRIEL network are:

Provide new tests for laboratory surveillance of pathogens in developing countries;

Identify and characterize new circulating pathogens such as emerging, mutant or resistant strains;

Conduct epidemiological studies in developing countries to improve the control, prevention and treatment of infectious diseases;

Provide rapid identification of emerging or re-emerging pathogens in case of epidemics alert.
